First, let me say that I used to be a competitive swimmer - so I do know a little about racing suits. For that reason and the ones below, I am rating this suit 5 stars as it met my expectations.
I don't swim competitively anymore and I had thrown out my last racing suit a few years ago (I also did not own any other one piece bathing suits). Then, in February...I was convinced to join a group of people to do the Polar Bear Plunge in support of the Special Olympics - yes, jumping into the Atlantic Ocean in February in temperatures around the freezing point into water that was even colder than the air. I decided I needed a one piece suit, but where to find such a suit (without a huge price tag) in February? Amazon!!!
I knew Speedos were very easy to buy without trying on - you buy your size based on measurements and it "fits" because it's a racing suit - it's not meant to be a fashion suit. I, however, do not swim regularly anymore and saw spending a ton of money on a very nice Speedo to be a very big waste. So, the "Learn to Swim" suit was the perfect alternative (though the name turned me off a bit...lol) - it serves its purpose and I do not need it to stand up to daily bouts in a chlorinated pool. This suit is NOT designed to be used as an every day practice or racing suit - it actually says "non-chlorine resistant" on Speedo's website (where I went to research the suits prior to purchasing on Amazon). I guess this gave me an upperhand in knowledge over some other buyers and why I'm still extremely happy with this purchase. It isn't the best suit ever, but it's a GREAT buy - a nice Speedo will cost you 2-3x as much, a great one will cost even more.
A note on sizing. The size of the suit should approximately match your chest and hip measurements. Ex: A size 34 suit would fit someone who has a chest and hip measurement of roughly 34" (this does not necessarily correlate with your bra band size since that size is based on your ribcage +4-5", not your bust, and can vary significantly between women depending on cup size - you must take the actual measurement around your bust). That said, the size I bought fit my chest measurement and was around 4" smaller than my hip measurement - but it fits perfectly fine.
